Walking the birch lane in October

The painting
White birch trunks line a lane carpeted in fallen copper leaves, with a dry-stone wall running alongside. The canopy blazes in amber and saffron, and more leaves drift down through beams of hazy afternoon light. Thick, tactile strokes make the leaves look almost touchable.
