The painting
A small weathered rowboat rests in the shallows beneath a sweeping willow, its hull catching the last light. Across the lake the sun sinks between low hills, laying a bright path of gold and tangerine over rippled water. Deep olive shadows in the foreground make the sunset glow even brighter.
