The first light, caught in the willows
This is the painting our name comes from: a willow bending over quiet water as the sun comes up through the mist. It is soft, rosy and completely still. Hang it where you start the day, or where you most want to slow down at the end of one.
The painting
A great willow drapes its long, silvery-green strands over the left bank while the river curves away into pearly mist. The sky glows rose and apricot, and every colour is mirrored in the water below in short, shimmering strokes. The palette is pure dawn: pink, lilac, pearl and willow green.
